Taught by – FarmGirls of Garden Inspirations In this course students will learn how to plant and grow their own food, this would be 2 hour lecture series taught by Marilyn & Donelle Simmons, the Farmgirls. Students will also learn how to prepare a meal from the garden in our garden to fork cooking class, this will be taught by a local Dallas Chef. Students will learn how to can & preserve their harvest from their own garden in the last week of the class. This class is 6 weeks in length. Fee: $265

Totally Tomato Class
First Set of Classes begin July 15! $40.00 per class
Take our Totally Tomato Class and learn more about how to raise tomatoes in North Texas. We teach you how to plant your tomato plants, how to take care of your plant, and how to harvest. We will do a taste test (if available) during the class!

Mixing the Soil – Learn how to overcome the black clay challenge and learn what to do to turn your mess into beautiful soil! In North Texas we battle with caliche and black clay, but the FarmGirls can teach you how to turn your soil into friable useable soil alive with Microbial Activity!

Love turnips, beets, carrots, onions, garlic? We do too! In this on hour class you will learn more about root vegetables – Learn how and when to plant root crops and a small introduction to root cellars! Samples of roots might be available in class!

Introduction to Vegetable Gardening in North Texas – 2 hour class
$30.00 per person or take it with a friend for $55.00 together
Gardening in North Texas has its challenges, but the benefits are rewarding. We have designed a 2 hour class to help guide you through the challenges you might be experiencing. This class is jam packed with information that will provide you with the necessary steps to begin your North Texas Gardening adventures. We want all of our gardeners whether friend or client to be successful. Bring a notepad and a pen, you'll want to take notes!

Edible Landscape Design Class: 2 hours
This class is to teach you how to add edible plants to your landscape. We will teach you about the texture of edible foods and how to incorporate the heights of different plants. These classes are not available until Fall 2012.
Price: $35.00 Per Person, no couple discounts
Canning & Preservation Class: 2 hours
This class is designed to teach you what to do with your harvest or bulk purchases from the Local Farmer's Market. We teach water bath canning and jam/jelly classes. Classes are $40.00 each and you take home the jar you make!
